Employers of people in recovery in the current workforce need training and continuing education to improve workplace culture, professional relationships, and to nurture a supportive growth environment for all involved. The Mountain Maryland Forward (MMF) initiative focuses on high-quality workforce outcomes including increased employment prospects, opportunities for advancement, and wage growth for individuals in recovery from substance use disorder (SUD).
The long-term goals of the program are to increase the number of:
- Residents having successful ongoing employment with future career development potential
- Employers supporting and investing in workforce development
- Internships funded through employer/community partnerships
- New and expanded partnerships between employers, educators, and community providers(
